The Last Pronouncement About Jesus, Part 2

The Last Pronouncement About Jesus, Part 2

When it comes to the life of Jesus, countless words have been written. But what is the last pronouncement about Jesus in the Bible?

Writer

The Father Knows The Son

No one truly knows the Son, no one completely knows the Son, except the Father.  The Father alone appreciates the Son with the appreciation He deserves.  Only the Father saw the Son as He wandered the streets of Jerusalem at night, when everyone else went to their own homes but the Son had no where to lay His head.

Only the Father knows what it was truly like for His Son to give up the comforts and glories of heaven for the sin-soaked streets of planet earth.  The Father’s eye alone could observe the sufferings of His Son while He was on the cross.  The mocking crown of thorns, the taunting of the soldiers, the blasphemy of His own people, all were further sharpened by the contrast of heaven’s caresses, which the Son had given up.

His Sufferings

As for the inner core of His sufferings, the three hours He spent shrouded in darkness, into which no human heart could penetrate, only the Father’s heart could understand what the Son felt during those dreadful hours.

Those books are sealed.  Those books are for the Father’s reading alone.  Praise God you will never have to read them.  The only glimpse of the Son’s suffering we see are those nine words He uttered from the midst of the darkness,

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Be An Explorer

When it comes to reading the gospels and studying the Son of God, each one of us should be a Columbus or a Cartier, explorers who stop at nothing until they reach their new and beautiful lands.

The Son waits to be explored and will disclose Himself to whomever will spend the time visiting and searching the four continents in which He lives – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the four almanacs that guide us to Him, the divine set of encyclopedias that perfectly describe to us the wonders of incarnate God, the four telescopes that allows us to see further than any human mind could ever hope to see.

The last verse of John’s gospel is not the final word on the Son of God at all.  In fact, it is just the beginning.  The last verse of John’s gospel sets the stage for all eternity.  It closes the curtain on the revelation of the Son of God as revealed on earth while He was in the flesh, but it sets our hearts in anticipation for the unveiling of the Son of God now glorified.

When We See Him As He Is

The books that are going to be written will be the books we will write for all eternity, when we see Him as He is.  Our tongues will be the pens of ready writers.  The skies will be our scrolls.  The ink will be the oceans.  But our writings will not drain the oceans dry.  The books will never be finished that contain the full disclosure of the infinite God.  Forever we will revel in His person, His power and His presence.
